(part 2 of 2 will be posted shortly - my connection's struggling with uploading that and downloading two large-ish zips at the same time)
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers soundtrack

*big thumbs up* I definitely approve of these recommendations. 8-)

I'm unfamiliar with uploading music, though, so it might be a while before I start making my own recommendations.

I just use http://www.yousendit.com for whatever I want to send, though I use it often enough that I have a YSI Plus account. It keeps my downloads longer, I can upload larger files, and more people can download them. And no waiting, woo! :D There are a number of other sites you can use to upload though, like http://www.sendspace.com and http://www.uploading.com, though sendspace seems to be the favorite after yousendit. :)

Well, a few of you mentioned that you watch CSI/Miami/NY, and one of my friends uploaded a soundtrack of sorts to New York, since TPTB haven't released an official soundtrack.

CSI NY Soundtrack .ZIP
CSI NY Soundtrack .RAR

And if you want individual songs, go to this LiveJournal entry. The zip/rar contains the following songs:
-The Who, "Baba O'Riley" (Opening Credits)
-William Orbit & Beth Orton, "Water from a Vine Leaf" (1x12 - ReCycling)
-Air, "Alpha Beta Gaga" (1x12 - ReCycling)
-Snoop Dogg, "Drop It Like It's Hot" (1x13 - Tanglewood)
-Michael Bublé, "Sway" (1x18 - The Dove Commission)
-Green Day, "Holiday" (1x20 - Supply and Demand)
-Regina Spektor, "Somedays" (1x21 - On The Job)
-U2, "Beautiful Day" (1x23 - What You See Is What You See)
-Orbital, "Pants" (2x03 - Zoo York)
-The Bravery, "An Honest Mistake" (2x06 - YoungBlood)
-OK Go, "Invincible" (2x09 - City of Dolls)
-Coldplay, "Talk" (2x10 - Jamalot)
-Remy Zero, "Glorious #1" (2x12 - Wasted)
-We Are Scientists, "Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt" (2x14 - Stuck On You)
-The Dollyrots, "Kick Me To The Curb" (2x14 - Stuck On You)
-REM, "I Am Superman" (2x19 - Super Men)
-Kid Rock, "Bawitiba" (2x21 - All Access)
-Regina Spektor, "Samson" (2x21 - All Access)
-Bird York, "In The Deep" (2x22 - Stealing Home)

The Da Vinci Code soundtrack is an excellent collection for background/writing music. My favorite track is #13: Che Valiers de Sangreal. Hans Zimmer does a great job of using the beautiful settings of the movie and also the moods of the scenes.

The band that is helping me write most easily is Abney Park.

You can download a bunch of their songs for free at http://www.abneypark.com/vault_locked/
