I just joined and find myself lost.

Is there a place where I'm supposed to post what I write daily, or do I keep it to myself?

I went to the FAQ section and it doesn't tell me much.

Can someone enlighten me?

Maybe I'm just too dumb to be here in the first place!:(

Go to the top of the page, and if you're logged in, you'll see something that says 'edit profile', click on it, and there should be a place you can type in your word count. Your actual written words you don't have to do anything with, though.

Thanks for the info, vampirebadger.

I have a few thousand words written on my novel, but still I'm far behind.

But, if I decided to lie just to look good, no one would know.

Of course, I would know that nothing is to be gained by doing that.

But, exagerations on my part or that of others would tend to discourage some (like me at the moment) who might be struggling to make their quota for the day and are serious about their writing.

Good luck with your effort, vampirebadger, may you reach the goal.

hey Easywriter - the word count is daunting huh?
lol i'm new too. i had a massive panic about how i'm so behind. i'm sure there was somethign on this site that said "you should be at 9000 words by midnight" am i seeing things?

anyway, my word count has just kept going up, and it looks like you're doing pretty good too. Good luck with it, I'm sure you'll do great.
By the way, if you want to post bits from your novel for people to read, check out the Campfire thread. *leaves to do that too*

jiyuuna_tori

If you put as much imagination power into your novel as you put into your name, you should do very well. :D

Don't forget, being new doesn't mean not being good. Who knows what will come of this.

I wish you the best of luck ... better than that: I wish you no luck at all.

I wish you are so good that luck won't have to intervene whatsoever into your aspirations to become a novelist.

I've been wanting to post just a hint of a chapter of my novel in the forum, but didn't know where to do that. Thanks for suggesting Campfre thread. That's one I haven't been to. :)

Hey!

Don't worry too much about the other wordcounts. Some people type ridiculously fast (myself included when I'm on a roll - I've been known to have 3k in an hour) and can do so for long periods of time (aka not me ;) ). But to each person their own writing speed.

Doesn't matter much if it takes a year to finish your novel or a week as long as you have that sense of accomplishment, right?

09: Trip- 50,055
10: Empty Brocade - 63,660
12: The Reanimation Code - FAIL
13: Only Illusion - 77,050
14: Finishing Novels - TBD
