I am a failure at plotting. Mostly because I give my characters WAY too much free will. They sort of do what they want, when they want, no matter how much I hate it.

haha, yes, I am the same way!! My sister has been making fun of my habit of talking to my characters ALL MONTH!! And she is berating me for letting them take over...however, I have found a very subtle way to plot. Writing out the next few scenes before I sit down to write (as I'm currently procrastinating doing just that). Although, some characters from a completely different series (set on a different PLANET) just wormed their way into my story and messed up my scene-planning method quite a bit. Silly elves :P
