I mostly stick to stuff with no singing in it (except for a handful of exceptions), as it tends to distract me from writing and I end up singing along. I'll be using the same playlist as last year, which was comprised of the ST from American McGee's Alice, the Silent Hill games, and Enya.

I listen to a lot of different stuff, at the moment I'm writing about a sort of romance/drama set in the 60s-80s so I listen to a lot of Simon and Garfunkel, Queen, The Beatles etc.

So far I've listened to the Wicked Original Cast Soundtrack, Coldplay's X&Y, and Imogen Heap's Speak for Yourself. I think I like Coldplay's CD the best since it makes for good background music. It's quiet and relaxing but not overly so that I want to take a nap. :P

I listen to almost everything, but when I set "set the controls for the heart of the sun" from Pink Floyd on repeat, it's easy to write. At this moment I'm listening to two of my friends who are playing the drums and guitar for me. They know I write best on music, so they stay at school in this beautiful weather (over 30 degrees) to play for me. Aren't they sweet?

I have a limited subscription to Rhapsody, so I have radio stations without commercials. I created one of my own I call Assorted Pop, which features ten artists plus assorted ones they throw in.

I also have been known to listen to Baroque. It worked quite well for my 2005 Nano.
