Anyone else who didn't make it still feel accomplished?

I didn't get to 50k. I got to 42,311.

Now, if you'd told me that's how far I'd get at the beginning of the month, I would have been horrified.

And at first I was horrified. But then I realized that no, I didn't make my goal - but was I happy with what I'd written? Absolutely. I love my novel and know that I will finish it at my own pace. Sure, it would have been great to get to 50k in a month (how did I write it all in fifteen days in November?), but I don't feel like I've lost at all.

Anyone else who didn't make it feel the same way?

You should feel accomplished. You made it far, and you actually DID it. I, on the other hand, started and couldn't start. I couldn't get motivated, and it's summer, so of course I have to try and enjoy it before going back to school... I'll try again in November. Even though I may not have time then, either.

I know I lost. I completely bombed out.
