Behind.

Super behind on my word count. Can't find the time to write. D: And my novel is nowhere. I'm doomed.

Oh, no you aren't. Just make sure you write a little bit each day, and write about something that is fun for you. Don't like the story? Change it! Rocks fall, and everyone dies. (Just don't delete those hard earned words!) You can still do it!

I'm a few days behind, but I can't summon the motivation to catch up.

The feeling sucks, doesn't it? But at the same time I don't really care. I need to find the motivation to continue, even if I have to kill everyone off and start again completely.

("Say, look at that!" cried the girl, and then the world exploded. However ten years later the world pieced itself together, and this where our story starts. Another girl - entirely unrelated to the last one, and hopefully a better MC - was...)

I am so tempted to do that. D:

My laptop just DELETED all of my JulNo files.
So I\'m starting again. :D

I have discovered the secret to actually writing something: a computer with no internet access.

And I just happen to have one. So I'm a couple of thousand words up from whatever it says. Thank God.

I'm still a good 16k behind though, at least.

But as I declared last night, to the sighs of disapproval of my family, I'll do it yet - they just won't see me for the last three days of July.

Ever since then? Eep, university.

Hopefully, I'll try to catch up. I'm doing crafting for swaps on Craftster so my days are spent online/watching TV/feeding my dog/crafting. Writing, doesn't seem to have a place in it yet. Idk. I haven't found the motivation AT ALL. It sucks. I'm cutting down my goal to 5K.

Come on! You've got a cool little banner for it, so you have to finish it! :D

I was behind. Sobriquet is right. When I write I disconnect my laptop from the internet and transport it to my desk. I still waste time on Cakewalk Express, but at least I'm not wasting it on the internet. My desk also faces away from the TV, and I have a wonderful little CD player to provide some background music.

BTW, that thing I posted in the Word Count forum, about writing 500 words an hour, it's not hard, and that's how I got caught up. You can also read some wonderfully inspirational books on writing like No Plot? No Problem! by Chris Baty and On Writing by Stephen King. Both books are fun to read and make me want to keep writing. One last thing: If you take your TV and internet time, and read books like the one you're writing instead, that'll also help with the inspiration, plus you won't have to worry as much about the quality of your writing. Reading good material while you're writing seems to elevate your skill in the process.

Have fun! Some people simply struggle to get words out. Again, I'm borrowing someone else's words: Don't get it right, get it written!

...and he can do that, and she can do this, and he can react like that, and she can slap him, and he can yell at her, and then a dead body can come crashing through the ceiling... yippee! XD

Yeah, the internet is a major distracting factor.... I've had to disconnect several times...

I have two hatchlings and four eggs now! Let them all live to see the light of day! Please don\'t give them soft-shell or anything, take care of them! I am getting really worried about the mint and black hatchlings and the purple and strangely-marked eggs! Save them!
