Challenges

I'm stealing this idea from JodiLee in the Coffeehouse forum. :)

This is a thread for challenges. We need to keep encouraging each other to make the 50k goal, and challenges are a great way to do so.

OUR FIRST CHALLENGE: Write 5,000 words between Saturday and Sunday. That's 2.5k per day. It should help boost word counts, especially if you are falling behind.

This challenge will occur EVERY weekend. :)

I'm thinking that July 15th might be a good day for a 5k challenge, too. Yes/no?

Aaand... July 30 and 31: this will be a 10k sprint challenge.

Any suggestions, let me know.

*shrugs*

I'm up for 5k basically any day, since from here on in...all days are kind of bad. But that's the fun of it. :)

I think you should up that to five. Or ten. :-P I'm in of course, but I'm going for a minimum of 2k everyday.

Bumped it up to 5k. 2.5k per day on weekends.

Added a 10k sprint for the last two days.

I'm trying that 500 words an hour thing today (I'm ridiculously far behind, haven't written more than a hundred words since day one). Not going well - I haven't started yet. :P

JulNo \'07: 59,557 words.
NaNo \'07: 52,452 words.
JulNo \'08: 53,556 words.
NaNo \'08: epic fail.
JulNo \'09: 19,949 words.
Ever since then? Eep, university.

Oh - can we have some kind of challenge on the 16th of July? That's the middle day since there are 31 days this month. And I have the whole day off school... :D

I said the 15th, but we can do both days, really.

Just post here if you make it. :) I may create a new topic for each challenge--I'm not sure yet. I like to be somewhat organized. If you win, you'll get free Internet cake.

I think I'm in. My story really needs to get moving and I don't think I will be doing much.

I'll try to partake in the other challenges but I am very lazy.

I'll be in, since this story is dragging out way longer than I thought it would. Gotta hurry it along ...

I'm in for this weekend. Not sure if I'll be able to do it every weekend, because once school starts back up on the 15th I'll have sporting commitments.

Obviously I can't write 5k on the 15th. I might try to do it on the 14th, though.

My laptop just DELETED all of my JulNo files.
So I\'m starting again. :D

Thanks for reminding me to create a new topic! :) I can't believe it's the weekend already.

I am so in for every single little weekend...
