For me it's my cat, trying to keep my apt clean and right now traning for work. And that's all subject to change, just like the weather and prices :D

My sister. I share a room with her, and she has this deeply, deeply agrivating habit of having the TV on, at floor rattling volumes, at all times. She will also be playing music, and talking on the phone. And she never, never, never, turns it all off when she leaves.

Grrrr.

Definitely pogo.com it's a free game site. I like earning tokens as I play bingo and various solitaire games. I can easily lose hours on the site.

Being tired and having a short attention span ... XD

Also members of the household randomly walking in asking for stuff, friends calling me up wanting to hang out, and the Interwebs.

My kids, work, youtube, mood swings, thirst, breathing, forums...

Having the attention span of a gnat doesn't help either, but headphones and loud music (Disturbed and Godsmack mostly) keep me focused. Sorta.

I'm terrible when there is music playing because I always stop what I'm doing so that I can sing along to it.
I have no idea how I've got through JulNo before now, I can barely finish this sentence without being distracted by something.

LiveJournal, Facebook, work... dance used to, but not so much anymore as my last competitition season has come to an end.

Oh oh, also games. Specifically popcap.com games (I have unlocked versions of Peggle, Insaniquarium, Chuzzle, Feeding Frenzy 2, and a Zuma knock-off). It's kind of ridiculous.

School, school, school...have I mentioned school?
I'm just glad to be out of surgery so I don't have to contend with 12 hour schooldays on top of writing and working.
Work doesn't distract me as much because I waitress so I always have paper and pen on me.
Fiddling around on the internet and dancing around my bedroom also distract me.

The family - the six siblings, parents, Scrubs, youtube, Wikipedia, and above all, these forums. You can see I only joined last year, and the number of posts from the twenty days I was doing this. And a short attention span. I've got almost no chance this year.

But I've got nothing special to distract me.

What's the most amusing distraction anyone's got?

Nah. I like to try to find my way from one article to another just by following links. Try it. Set two articles and find your way in between. Like... Joseph Goebbels and Scrubs. That'd be amusing, and would waste a few minutes.

For me it's the TV, if it's on then I tend to want to watch it, instead of writing, when it's not it's easier. :) I like either quiet or music that inspires me...and of course my niece whom I love! :)

I have that problem, and I'm not allowed to take the laptop away from the TV. So I have to put headphones on but I only have three music tracks on that computer - and they're not appropriate.

So I tend to have three tracks on repeat for hours at a time... It doesn't work.

Sobriquet, try http://www.soundclick.com they have tons of free music to download or just listen to if you make a playlist. Also there are user stations to listen to that may help you. I go there just to hear the brobdniganian bards, but that's the Irish in me. ;)

Music with too many words (that's why I like listening to foreign music while writing - I'm never listening to the words then), other peoples' noises, my pets, but, besides that, not much. The computer I write on has no internet and no special programs except Age of Mythology (which I get sick of after half an hour anyways) and Sims 2, which I don't let myself go on during WriMos.

The Sims 2 - that was a serious distraction last year. But I'm bored of it now. Hmm... I should go on that again sometime. And thanks for the website. Unfortunately, the laptop I'll be using for most of July won't have the internet. Which sucks. But I will have unrivalled access to it. Which is a bit of a win. I just won't be bugging all of you again all month this year. :)

I'm surprised to see how much all of us have in common with distractions. Here's mine:

- "Contact". (A kewl re-make of a game for the SNES that was called "Earthbound".) F***ing distracting.

- The Animal Planet. Oh my god, they play Animals Cops all damn day...

- Plot nabbing. It's a form of robbery I usually commit on the old NaNoWriMo adopt-a-plots. Oh my god, since I found the links to the old adopt-a-plots, no plots have been safe.. O.o

- Tyson- that's my kitten. He looks like a little raccoon- and he demands entrance into my room.

- Fanfiction.net. Once you get into the better fanfictions, written by people older than fourteen, who actually read BOOKS, and who have actually seen/read what it's based off of, you can get sucked in. The last one I got obsessive over was a thriller in the "Saw" universe about an O.C and Detective Hoffer. I loves it. :D:D:D:D

- Icanhascheezburger.com. So stupid- so dumb. So good.

- The dog. I have to walk her during the week. I despise it.

- Books. I read like a chainsmoker smokes- and lately, it's been the Harry Potter series- which I'm re-reading over- and "Red Dreagon" by Thomas Harris.

- Research. Very important- but very hard to crawl out of once you get exactly what you need. Me being a learning nut, I've been sucking in every piece of information I can find.

Ah, don\'t worry about that- I assure you, my A.D.D peppiness and Miss Know-it-all Attitude will grow on you like mold!

For me it's Disney [work, usually, but play sometimes too], the Sims 2, trying to be a good mod here and on the WriYe boards while opening up / running the AugNo boards, and livejournal.

Oh, yes. And my youtube channel, BSBitching. Making two videos a week is a little time consuming. :P
