For your validator....

why not see if you can get someone to make a widget for it. I know they can be programed to do just about anything. You can get it made so it can't be added to or reset and all that good stuff.

I think the best kind would be a countdown one. One that counts your words, but showsyou how many you have to go.

Wait... a widget that displays your current word count? That's a good idea.

I'm not sure about how to go about validating word counts, though. I'm pretty sure we'll be going on the honor system again this year.

Yahoo has a lot of word count widgets. I don't know if anyone on here knows how to make them, but if there is they could make one with the logo/name for the face or something. Sorry I used to be into java programing and all but I'm very outdated.

I just completed my first course on Java, but we didn't get into GUI or anything like that.

It's something I will consider, though. I'm a bit pressed for time this month, so my main goal is to get some sort of word count progress bar up... even if it's the same one we've been using.

Word Count Widget

I think it would be great to have a word count widget that I could drop into my blogger blog. They have such things at NoNoWrimo. Any chance we could just borrow? Are you guys at all affiliated with NaNoWrimo?

No, we are not.

I know absolutely nothing about word count widgets, but you might be able to find something you can use at http://tickerfactory.com

You can also try the Zokutou Meter. I put it on my blog if you want to see what it looks like. It's pretty easy to update. You just go in and change the total word count number in the HTML coding when your total gets bigger. Go to http://www.zokutou.co.uk/wordmeter/ to check it out.

Ohh, thanks. I should bookmark that site on here or something. I used that a long time ago but completely forgot about it.
