Indy I'M GOING TO TOUR EMERSON BECAUSE IT'S LIKE MY DREAM SCHOOL. when I come we should totally meet up or something. As for majors, English or creative writing, ideally, but I also want to get an education certification so I can be a teacher. I've got a long list because there are SO MANY SCHOOLS in the area, but I'm going to make a point to see schools like Wellesley and BU and Northeastern. My brother also wants to look at MIT, and one of my best friends is going to be a freshman there next year so I'm going to see her too.

Progress? Psh. The Law and Order SVU marathon on USA Network right now is more important than progress.

ENGLISH MAJORS! I'm going into my third year at university and I'm an English major, as well. :) It's a lot of fun! (Though I've only actually had this major for a semester; before I was psychology and, briefly, political science. What a mistake that was.)

YES OMG we should meet up. I wouldn't be able to give much of a tour (mostly because a) I am not a tour guide and am not allowed to take people some places (I tried to give a tour this past semester to a friend and because it was a Saturday there were a lot of things that weren't open that I didn't have permission to open myself) and b) I am terrible with showing people around things that are geared toward their specific major that isn't visual/media arts, which is my program--I'm super involved in the television aspect and it's my favorite thing, but not many people are interested haha) but I can show you good places to go in Boston and we could totally meet up for coffee or something!

Oh also, I started my progress report and changed the link in my signature, so if you'd like to follow it the link is there!

YAYYYYYY

I woke up at 7 AM today (which is really early for me in the summer) and I never fell back to sleep. I have been staring at the same section of my character map for the past ten minutes. I need to take a nap.

People, July is scarily close. Just figured I would throw that out there. And yet this place is dead. Which is saddening and mildly concerning. Have our numbers fallen, or are they just too busy to show up?

Anyway, I'm glad that most everyone seems to be hammering out what they're going to do. Progress can't really go astray. I was going to say something else here, but I don't remember and also need sleep. Here's to hopefully seeing more of you on here before July sneaks up on us all.

Wow Wow wowww. People are still here I used to talk to why back in I don't even remember when! I know everybody is probably still super busy but I'd like to hear from you all.

I'm trying to finish my NaNo from last November this July, so I thought I'd pop back in here!

I am Emery for those who do not know me, and I'm excited to hopefully have some awesome writing buddies again.

<3 <3 <3

Edit: Oh a quick introduction. I'm also in college... Just finished my third year as a double major in Studio Art and Psychology. I have one more semester and I graduate in December. Whew. My favorite thing besides writing is painting ^^

Emery and Dino! Long time, no see!

So many english majors. I'd love to major in it, but I couldn't handle the insecurity of that job market. Hence why I'm a business/accounting major. And I like math. Shh, don't tell anyone.

I'm no longer sure if I'm doing JulNo. I'm away from home while I babysit a special needs cousin of mine, and it's going to take up a whole two months. The only way I could get writing in is to wake up early and stay up late. I kinda want to try it just to see if I can.

I have no clue what I'd write, though. I may do so anime fanfiction, seeing as it's those characters that run through my head as of late. Maybe some song fics as well. I don't feel like pushing myself to write a full out story this year. Just gonna write whatever comes to me. JulNo rebel all the way.

We are two days out from JulNo. Two. Days.

Brooke don't say such scary things.

Emery:

Oh man I missed you guys!

I've been super busy the last few days (I'm finally watching A:TLA for the first time ever and we marathoned the second half of season two and I'M STILL EMOTIONAL) but I HAVE NOW RETURNED!

I need to plot my second novel before July, or I'm gonna end up stuck. I was also having problems at work yesterday because I couldn't remember the name of it.

How's your major? Is it something that you enjoy? What's it like? You're the first legit film major I've met.

Haha thanks. Also I forgot to mention it but I support Wrimo-rebelling!

It's awesome! I've been more involved with television than film at my school because the television orgs are THE BOMB DOT COM but I love all of it, to be honest. I've worked on a ridiculous amount of tv crews this past year and I'm producing a show next year and possibly a film if it gets approved and I AM SO EXCITED. It's so much fun and I love doing it.

That sounds really cool! And it's great that you're getting hands-on experience this early on. And that you have a major that you like. I've seen a bunch of people have issues with that.

I know I was a little worried about that, since more than likely if I found out I hated my major I'd have to change schools (although the other things I want to learn about are also majors at my school; I'm interested in super random stuff haha) but luckily it wasn't a problem! :D

Indy!!!! BRooke!!! Hugs all around!! <3 <3

Brooke: You just write whatever you want. Do it do it do it! It's better to try then to not try at all. ^^

Indy: omg, dude, I also just started season 2 of A;tLA with my boyfriend. It's been my favorite show since like... it started airing, and we've owned every episode on DVD since they came out on DVD. I used to re-watch the series every year, but I didn't last year because I was sooo busy. But then, my bf and I just passed 1 year together and I was like... Why have I not forced him to watch this yet? He'd never seen it. By the end of season 1 he was hooked, just as planned.

Is everybody here like in their first year of college?? I feel so old that I'm almost done...

Hi Sadie! Nice to meet you. When I joined here I was in high school, too... It was the summer after my first NaNoWriMo.
I think I've only done JulNo twice since then, but have managed to complete every NaNoWriMo for all 5 years that I participated. My plans for the summer are to finish last year's and the year before's NaNo (both sitting at about halfway completion).

I'm not in love with them right now... They're both in that stage where as a writer you think "What am I doing? what have I done? This SUCKS" but you got to push through it.

I'm also interested in editing my NaNo from 3 years back... it's been on my mind a little, but I don't want to take on too many projects and just focus on one at a time, so as not to get confused and blur the stories together.

Yeah, Emery, you're only two years ahead! That's not bad. And I'd never seen A:TLA either! So now I have and I'm in a lot of pain.

I've been planning my second novel, we'll see how that goes. I need to make a list of things that I need to accomplish during the course of this book because that's been my problem for the moment. I'm not sure what besides the main plot I need to reach by the end.

Also I need to go to church and then I need to clean my room. And I went to this Italian thing today and I was worried it was gonna be terrible (and like it partially was cuz I knew basically no one and therefore only talked to Lizard and a few other relatives who were there), but the desserts were amazing so I'm content. ^_^

Haha, thanks Brooke! Yeah he is a new development in my life since I've hung around here, and probably the reason I didn't participate in last year's JulNo... We had JUST started dating.

Good to know I'm not THAT old. I'm at that stage where I constantly flip flop between wow I'm so old and wow I'm still a baby. Hah.

Indy: Desserts are always good... I'm really picky about them though, because I usually feel sick after most desserts (I have a super sensitive stomach) so it has to be AWESOME for me to risk the stomach aches. Or Ice Cream, I'm always willing to hurt for some ice cream. <3
Desserts are healing for emotional pain though! (pain induced by AtLA??? If you think the pain is bad now, wait until season 3).

I feel that about the age thing, but it's more existential crisis-y. I don't know where I belong. WHAT DO I DO AT LARGE PARTIES? Hence why I talked to no one today lol.

My friends claimed the end of the second season (like the string of episodes right after the Library) are the most emotional just cuz it's pain after pain after pain haha. But considering season 3 is the end, I'm sure it'll be a roller coaster.

Italian desserts are my fave ever, so I'm always down for Italian desserts haha.

My roommates last year used to throw parties in our apartment like 3 times a week and I pretty much just locked myself in my room every time. I'm not the one to ask about what to do at parties hah.

And that's true!! Totally accurate. The end of season two is just ow ow ow ow. Season 3 has both awesome happy points and painful points, and some parts that are somehow both pain and joy at once, but it cycles through the highs and the lows so fast you just cry the whole time. (or maybe that's just me?)

Are you Italian? Or do you just like Italian food? Either way, cool!

Haha I know I've definitely hiddin in my room during socializing on many occasions.

I'm sure that'll be me too; we're planning to do the whole season in a day so pain is coming.

I'm half Italian! Both my mother's parents were born in Sicily. :D

I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHAT NEEDS TO HAPPEN BY THE END OF THIS NOVEL HOORAY
Oh actually I think I'm missing one character whoops. Two characters, actually.

Yay life! The people have returned!

I'm with Sadie- still in high school. But that doesn't make you old. Until the end of last year, Tina was still an active part of this forum, so you all still have some time left before you're allowed to feel awkward on here.

Desserts are yummy. And go quite nicely with A:TLA. I watched it for the first time three years ago and loved it. It didn't make me cry, but then again, it's very rare that anything does.

Indy: YAY! PROGRESS! (If you can't fit them in to that ending, I fear some measures may have to be taken. Measures that might lower the amount of people in the novel by the end.) I'm sure you'll figure everything out eventually.

Sky, I tend to be pretty stoic about things, but I was pretty close to crying over A:TLA haha (probably would've done, but the boy kept looking back and forth between me and the tv to see my reaction and it was making me giggle).

I can't take any of the characters out! They're all vital to the story, or at least I need them there for other things. The problem is that I have an established cast from the first book, but now I don't know what to do with some of them after book one. I'll figure it out though. There's lots to be done. I need to figure out how I'm getting to the end though, which will always be the problem.

EDIT: Guys I went running. I actually did exercise. It was like a mile, but I did it. (And the most amazing part is that I actually enjoyed it slightly!)
