The Chat Thread
The "adult's" official chat thread for JulNo 2013! I'm afraid we don't have a cool name like the teen's thread does. Anyone have any suggestions?
Hi, I'm Tina.
And I'm posting this at 6:30am while trying to find the motivation to get out of bed and go switch the kettle on. But it's 2 degrees and I've a three
hour class on journalism the morning, so I don't fancy on moving anytime soon...

Yay relaunch!
Am I a stalker for following you here? I don't want to stop talking to you! But I also want to talk to Indy and the others...
That sounds so grown up, haha.
I hope you did get out of bed. I was woken by my roommate's phone which made a ridiculously loud noise. Then drifted in and out of sleep until 10.

I shouldn't have even been in the other thread last JulNo. >.>
I did unfortunately. Been in class for over an hour and the lecturer hasn't even arrived yet!

Well, nobody punished you.
Maybe they had the same idea as you. x) Morning class is evil.

But this is probably the highest attendence we've had in weeks for this class. xD
It's already breaktime, actually! On break until 11am and then we should have an hour of class after - assuming the lecturer arrives. We've been told
she will. Everytime I try to spend time working on Caged someone calls my name. -.-

Why is that? x) And just ignore them...
Preparing for today's lectures. Reading about foreign language acquisition isn't as boring as expected! But translating phone novels is still more
fun.

It's kind of hard to ignore them. Especially as one of the people trying to
get my attention was a lecturer for a diff class.
I'm no longer writing Caged as this year's project (although it may be next year's to give me 17 months
to work on it!) but instead I'm creating another website. Joy. x)
Ooh. Fun.
Now I'm home I need to: do research for an article; arrange times to interview three diff people; write a proposal and brief for the website; and I've
also something JulNo-related to do. May also be going out tonight to do one of the interviews.

Lecturers are important, but students aren't. x) And why does that "joy" sound so sarcastic in my head?
So did you get anything done?
I chatted with S during break. :] And with my roommate just now. Somehow it feels like all I do these days is try and make make new friends or spend
more time with old friends.

It was a sarcastic "joy".
I did a lot of filing and then the JulNo stuff then gave up for the day. I think I did too much over the weekend - just not motivated now. ^^;;
Mm. I never try to make friends - they come naturally. I was shocked when I left class today (after staying behind 10 mins to chat with my lecturer)
to find seven people waiting for me in the hallway. x)

Why did you change projects then!
Heh, it's the other way round for me. Time for another day at the library!
Maybe I should say talk with people I'm interested in - like S and the new roommate (who's also an S). I also had a nice evening with C, her boyfriend
and T yesterday. We were cooking together (more or less) and then watching anime while eating.
Apparently you're a popular kid!

The reason I stayed behind was to show my lecturer the work I'd done for the web design class to see what she thought. My classmates were all really
impressed with my work on it so I wanted to get her opinion. She looked through it and the 10 pages of paperwork and she thinks it has the potential
to get a good pass because it's both creative and shows a range of different skills. We agreed that given the time limit it would be a better project
choice (to achieve a better quality final product).
This means my JulNo project has been decided too btw... Caged! If it goes well then I'll submit it as
my 2013-14 project.
Sounds like a plan. And also sounds like you had fun. :]

Good good. :] So you guys do that kind of project every year? Does it have to be more complex next year?
Yep. At first I was worried because it sounded like a double date, but it was really just about friends hanging out. And J(her boyfriend)'s apartment
is so cute and cozy. :3 He's collecting bricks so he can build an oven with them.

I imagine it will be more complex next year - we have 24 classes for it instead of the 12 we have this year. o.o That's assuming I get onto the course
above, that is (my course is only a year long).

- Pass this course with 15 credits (strangely, I would only need 12 to get into uni!)
- Pass the application/interview stages
I'm jealous... I've had no time to play with my characters in about a week.

Right, you've interviews every year. That's weird. Shouldn't they already know you're good enough?
Aw. But you got other things done instead. I didn't.

I'm hoping that because I'm already a student here they won't feel the need to re-interview me. I mean, they know me! x) But maybe they will as a
formality. If they get a lot of applications from students not already studying here then they probably will. :/ Can't
help but wonder if all that bother with guidance might effect it. S still hasn't returned and it's my fault. :x
All I've done is college work and drink. ^^;

That'd be the reasonable thing to do, they already interviewed you once after all.
And nope, his fault, not yours!
Well, there you go: college work!
Anyway, going to sleep soon. Good night!

I feel like I'm intruding in on a conversation... but... yay, we have an active adult's thread this year!
My days are sometimes quite routine now that I'm no longer in college. I started out the morning with a 3 hour meeting at 8:30am, and got out of work
around 5. Came home, checked my e-mail, and then headed out to the gym. Now I've had dinner and am currently watching TV, waiting for my roommate to
come home from class.
It sounds so boring. But tomorrow I might be going skiing!

It does feel like that when there is an active thread.
Skiing would be fun! I've only ever been skiing on indoor slopes.
I've a day of grammar, more journalism and then script writing. -_-

Routine can be a good thing...
There are indoor slopes? Never heard of such a thing before!
Going to a lecture in 20 minutes, then library for studying. Not really in the mood, but I should. :|

Thank you, college computer, for deleting the post I made 20 minutes ago. D;
There are, yes! I've been to two: one in the south of England (near Portsmouth, I think) and another one in Glasgow. :]
We were given two hours to write a 275-325 word article as a "practice" for an upcoming test; I was finished in under half the time. x)
Why do you study in the library so much instead of at home?

But aren't they like, small compared to the outdoors? I don't particularly like skiing, but I have to admit it's fun going down a mountain that way.
Two hours, haha. Of course you were. x)
Because it's warm, more comfortable and prevents procrastination. If I only take what I need, I've no choice but to work with the stuff I took with
me. Plus, I don't want to be stuck with S at our room all the time! Also, the library in the main building is really pretty.

Yep. They're tiny! And it really hurts if you fall on artificial snow. x.x
They were way too generous with the time limit. When the lecturer said we were at the halfway point on time I was really surprised. I don't think my
outburst of, "Are you serious? I finished 15 minutes ago!" in response was totally approprioate - but it got the class laughing and a couple of people
then said they were done too. ^^;
It looks so old. >.>

Not a plus. You should go skiing around here! Would you like that? The ski lifts are fun too. x)
Hehe. They probably wouldn't have said anything if you hadn't.
Well, it is old. J claimed it looked like something out of Harry Potter...There are outlets for laptop
charging at every seat though.
