Massivly behind?

yeah... I'm at least 3000 words behind and I'm incredibly lost for plot basically I know the next 1000 maybe 2000 words, but nothing after that and I want 15000 by the time of a major plot turn

Yeah.

Just yeah. I shouldn't have even signed up for JulNo, really--I'm so busy otherwise. I should have done Script Frenzy, I didn't do ANYTHING in June.

And I'm not sure where my story'll head, either, but I'm excited about that. I can only hope it doesn't flop, but I have a feeling that if I can just keep hacking at it, I'll end up with something I enjoy.

It's whether or not I have the energy to keep hacking at it that's the question...

I'm trying to write to a higher target each day, and I kept getting behind...

In the end, I got stuck, and moved to a new part of the story. It might not be the best way to do it normally, but if you're really stuck, write what you know, then go to your plot turn.

I'm about halfway to where I want to be.

But I'm not catching up today. Or tomorrow. Maybe Friday.

I'm not worried. If I just do 2k (which, not to toot my own horn *toots own horn* :D , is quite easy for me) every day, I'll come out with more than enough. And as long as Week Two doesn't get me down, I might even hit 60k this month. But, I doubt it.

Big problem is, I just started today, so...argh.

None of you seem to be masively behind to me. I'm at 180. Words. And I'm stuck already. Thats bad.

I just started today so I'd say I'm starting off behind. I'm going to write all day today and see if I can get at least 1k under my belt before the day is over with. We'll see what comes of it. Wish me luck! :D

Well, I was on track for the first three days of the month, and then July 4th came and threw me off. Holidays tend to have that effect...and I didn't write yesterday either. But hey, I've done 5000 word days in the past, and that's all I need to get caught up!

I was on track for a few days, heck I was ahead for a day or two. But then some of my family. I have not writen much more than a few hundred words for the past three days. I'm about 5k behind right now and I wont be able to catch up till middle of next week. After that the new Harry Potter will be out and I'll be gone for a day or so.

I'm slowly trying to catch up for skipping the first day and doing almost nothing the 2nd and 3rd days. My goal is to be completely caught up (and maybe a little ahead) by next wednesday or so, when i go back home. Because once I get home, i have lots of diff. things i'll be doing that will take away from writing time.

Originally I posted this in the Word Hunt forum, but I think it bears mentioning here, too. (The moderator may delete this if he/she sees fit)

I talked about the 5000 word catch-up day. Here's how it works. 500 words is an easy amount to write, right? Fifteen minute, and that's if you get stuck. So, do so every hour you're awake. Most people sleep 8 hours, so this leaves another 16 hours of waking time. You figure a few of these hours may be missed, but hey, you've got 6 extra hours. So, relax about it, when you notice the hour has changed, sit down and write. And stop yourself as soon as you notice you've reached 500. The idea is to keep the sprints easy, so you have enough time to rejuvenate completely between them. I've used it before (though not this month) and I really think it helps. Try it. Don't think, write.:)

...and he can do that, and she can do this, and he can react like that, and she can slap him, and he can yell at her, and then a dead body can come crashing through the ceiling... yippee! XD

I just have my brother blasting his music through his computer's subwoofer all the time! You can hear it through walls and closed doors. Add to that the parents asking "can you do this?" "are you busy, i just need you to..." or just barging in and going "hello...". I'm trying to get about 2 hours in now, and then maybe a bit later tonight...but interruptions in my house are an hourly occurence...nothing is sacred in our house...

I have to sit in the same room as four siblings - music, TV, conversation, my mother rattling stuff in the kitchen, etc...

Difficult to work, isn't it?

I've found the solution of staying up an extra hour at night and scribbling crap in a refill pad.

That's a very welcome reminder of how much fun this can be, pianist 2008. I think I've lost sight of that with my 'outline- the-entire-thing-first' approach.

I also like the idea of fifteen minute bursts of writing.

Good tip.

I'm soo behind...only about 2500 words. But I'm at my favorite coffee house, with no obligations, until later tonight, so hopefully I'll be better off tomorrow. Add to this the fact that I have a funeral and wake to go to this week and..."Rach, you're insane for doing this" seems to be pretty true. But I shall prevail! I shall!

\"We\'re all here because we\'re not all there.\"
So far...I have a road trip, a cameo by Tony Bourdain, a night of romance and pot at Virgina Beach, Puff the Magic Dragon (the actual dragon) and a stop at the Jersey Shore planned. Anything YOU\'d like to see in my JulNo? email/AIM me!

It's now July 8th, and I started from scratch again last night, did almost 2,000. I pulled out mainly because our local site, have a weekend challenge at the end of the month. (anyone interested, it's called the 'Zing Thing, 2,000 word story, on 'kiwiwriters.org) Then I think they have something for August next month. Have just completed the SocNoc 50,000 word challenge. Thought it might be a bit much.
However I'm having another go, cold winter day, so should get some done, once I'm off here.

Remember, don\'t put off what you should do today, for it will be yesterday, tomorrow!

Me too! I used to just use my music to drown it out, then my music became a distraction as well. That's why I write either really early or really late now, when the house is moderately quiet.

I haven't done much today. I watched tennis for about seven hours. Now I'm falling asleep and I don't really want to bother getting another 1k before bed. There is no way I'm getting 100k on this thing this month.
