The Encyclopedia in Your Head

You've got to be an expert at something. What is it?

In other words, what topics do you know a lot about? Share it here, and maybe it will help another writer during the month of July.

♫ Artificial intelligence: mainly on how robots work/respond.

♫ Seven years of domestic rat keeping: health/diseases/treatment and both general & erratic behaviour.
(wasn't going to include this but I tend to get a number of health-related PMs from rat owners relating to this one each year)

♫ Gang violence: unless it involves guns I can probably help you with it.

♫ British politics (post-1979) and Africa's development.

♫ GLBTQ and polyamory.

♫ Scotland and England in general.

Seeing as I’m just a college frosh this year, I probably won’t be the most knowledgeable person you can ask about things, but since it's still fairly fresh in my brain, feel free to PM me about science-y stuff. More specifically, I can probably talk about :
- Math: I’m finishing up my freshman mathematics this year, which includes single- and multi-variable calculus and linear algebra.
- Physics: I’m not great at physics, but seeing as I’ve had freshman physics on the brain for the last year, I thought I should add it to the list. So basically, motion, E&M, and a little relativity.
- Chemistry: First-year chemistry major, woo! More specifically, I’ve taken the basic freshman chemistry stuff, and I’ve also got a bit of organic chem, equilibrium systems, MO theory, and applications of group theory floating around. I’ve also got some basic thermodynamics in the noggin, but I’m fairly weak on that material. By July, I’ll probably know a little more about quantum mechanics and inorganic chemistry stuff.

As for non-science-y things, I can also probably help a bit with:
- German: I took German for six years in high and middle school
- Trivia: I like old literature and old Hollywood films, so I know some random things about these
- “The First Year College Experience”: Yeah, it’s stupid and cliché, but I like to think I know a lot about what it’s like to move to a college far from home and learn to live somewhat self-sufficiently. o_o

Jeez, I'm long-winded. O_O

I'm definitely not someone who knows a lot outside of a "need-to-know" basis xD but there are a few subjects I might be able to lend a hand with:

- Wolves and Dogs. I'm most knowledgable about Gray Wolves (aka the Timber Wolf) but I am somewhat experienced in the area of Red Wolves. Other canines (other than dogs) I know even less about, but even still I'll most likely be able to help you out better than most people you'll meet.

- Christian beliefs, mainly Methodist and Baptist: I was raised Methodist and have Methodist beliefs, but I go to a Baptist school, so I know a decent amount about Baptists as well. Other branches of Christianity, not so much. Come to me for this if you have general questions - I'm not out of school yet and I haven't studied theology or anything, so I'm not going to be able to help you with everything, fair warning.

-Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Yeah, yeah, so the chances of somebody actually coming to me about this is slim to none xD but just in case somebody's writing a fanfic or something...I know a lot about Buffy; seen all the episodes and such. (Though hopefully if you're writing a fanfic about it, so do you. xD)

-...What it's like to realize you really don't know much? xDDDD

I'm happy to answer PMs on quite a few things.

Cookery - both home ec and commerical, both front of house or back of house. This includes take-out. (note: this would be the one I know most about)
Retail - (both of the above I currently take courses in)
LGBT+ - or, as I like to call it, LGBTalphabetsoup. I can add in personal experience with this as well.
Gender - transgender, lacking gender, gender-neutral pronouns, etc.
Christian beliefs - like, Stuffy Bagel. I know baptist and anglican.
Things that generally require "trigger warnings"
Australian history + Australia in general - I live here, kind of comes with the territory
Piano - Far too much about pianos in my head. >.<

Er... so I guess I could also be a source on living in country Australia and running a small business. I often feel like I occupy a whole different universe to the city dwellers.

oncology
nursing in general
drugs - yes drugs as in heroin cocaine, ... but also those we use in a hospital (morfine etc)
music - anything related to a violin and recorder in general, most composers of the classical and romantic era, ...
pescetarianism - people who don't eat meat but do eat fish (and no, it's not the same as a vegetarian)

Spanish Language / Culture: I am fluent in Spanish and lived in Spain. So, practical, hands-on knowledge is very European based. However, most of my book-learning is Central / South American and I have tons of friends from there. So, bam.

Central Florida / Tourism / Theme Parks: No surprise, as someone who has lived her 85% of her life that I know and am surrounded by all of this stuff. And I've worked for both Disney [former job] and Universal [current job].

Crack: Not the drugs, but insane plots and ideas. XD I am very good with coming up with crack ideas to help loosen stuff up.

Homeschooling: So that this post isn't complete crack itself, I was homeschooled from beginning to highschool. I can let you know what I did.

Can't believe I forgot, but Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder: I have ADD (hence why this was added later...) and I've also done some research on it, and I can give you good links to go to, as well.
