Kill or not to kill, that's the question.

Hiya
I'm nearing the end of my story now.
The bad guy in this story so far has only killed (or erased) family members from the main characters off screen.
On screen he has killed a copper.

I wonder if I should make him kill one of the main characters before another one sacrificing himself in order to make this creature more terrifying?

At this point I just came with an idea.
I'm going to get her killed, but since they are just erased I might make her come back in the very end of the story. There she knows nothing of what happened before. She's a complete different person (though the character might be still the same).
A bit like in Primeval. Where a woman (Claudia) gets erased from time but kinda returns as a totally new person (Jenny).

Interesting. Sort of "destined by the universe to really exist" kind of thing. :)
